Netscape Composer Font Color and Font Style Tools

Netscape Composer's editing tools are more limited than MS Word's. There is no "Comment" feature equivalent to MS Word's. Composer's formatting menu cannot be customized. However, there is already a font color icon on Composer's formatting toolbar.

Add remarks/comments in a colored font

You can insert your own comments in a distinct color anywhere in the existing text. However, you have to select both the font color icon down-arrow (highlighted on toolbar image below) and also the color within the palette each time you start typing in a new location.

Highlight or distinguish existing text using font color or font style

To draw attention to specific text within a student paper, there is no way to "highlight" using Composer that is equivalent to highlighting in MS Word. However, you can select text and then apply a color from the color palette to color the text.

You can also select existing text and draw attention to it by selecting Format-->Style-->Underline or Format-->Style-->Strikethrough.

Be sure to save often when working In Netscape Composer; the Edit/Undo feature can only undo the last action performed.
