Joseph Rawson is the 24/7 Services Coordinator Librarian at the University of Maryland University College. He oversees the program that provides library services to the university community 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round. In addition, he is responsible for supervising the Graduate Assistants from the library school at University of Maryland College Park who provide library services at the McKeldin library in College Park and the Student and Faculty Services Center in Adelphi. Also, he provides reference service and library instruction for the university both face to face and online. He teaches LIBS 150 for the School of Undergraduate Studies. Previous to working for UMUC he was a Reference Librarian at the main branch of the Providence Public Library in downtown Providence, R.I., one of the largest libraries in the state of Rhode Island. He received his M.L.I.S from the University of Rhode Island in May of 2001 and his B.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University in 1986. Prior to his career as a librarian, he spent many years as an education, event, and member services director for builder and Realtor trade associations running educational programs, conventions and working with faculty to develop course curriculum
