- Dr. Loyce Best Pailen - CSI, Director
Dr. Loyce Pailen was appointed as the Director, Center for Support of Instruction, in 2005. Prior coming to UMUC in 2002 she worked at The Washington Post Company for over 20 years in various programming, management and directorial positions in newspaper and corporate information technology.
- Kathleen Puckett - CSI, Assistant Director
Before joining the Graduate School, Kathleen served as the marketing and public relations director of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington. In 1997 she became a graduate student at UMUC, pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Systems Management before enrolling in the MBA program.
- Towanda Jones - CSI, Instructional Support Specialist
Towanda has been with the Center for Support of Instruction (CSI) since November 2005. She joined UMUC in 1999 as a Web Designer in Marketing and Communications where she managed, developed, and maintained UMUC's Web site and information architecture.
- Yulia Nemchinova - CSI, Senior Instructional Support Specialist
The first Russian word Yulia Nemchinova taught her new UMUC colleagues when she came on board as the Graduate School's Information Technology (IT) Liaison on September 10 was "privet" which means "hello." Yulia hails from Moldova in the former USSR where she studied biology and chemistry and earned a degree in Biology Education.
- Laddie Odom - CSI, Multimedia Producer
Laddie joined the staff of UMUC in September, 2005 as a member of CMNT and was reassigned to CSI in May of 2007. In his nearly two years here, he has been very excited to help UMUC explore and implement new technologies in order to help staff, faculty and students achieve their goals.
- Susan Pollack - CSI, Instructional Support Specialist
Susan considers herself a lifelong learner who is always eager to try new things, whether it is a new learning methodology or a new software program.
- Deb Schroeder - CSI, Senior Instructional Support Specialist
Deb Schroeder has been with UMUC for over twenty years. She holds a degree in Management Information Systems. Her background in art and graphical design coupled with strong computer skills greatly assist Deb in her day-to-day work.
- Linda Smelser - CSI, Instructional Support Specialist
Linda enjoys the variety of work CSI has to offer as well as collaborating with her talented colleagues. Her other roles as UMUC adjunct and CTL instructor provide her with first-hand experience for supporting the UMUC community as an Instructional Support Specialist.
- Heloisa Siffert - CSI, Senior Instructional Support Specialist
Heloisa began working at the Graduate School on July, 2001. Heloisa brings a wealth of experience in the areas of graphic design and multimedia to GSMT's ITS department as well as to SUS.
- Jen Thies - CSI, Senior Instructional Support Specialist
Jen enjoys expanding on her WebTycho and distance education knowledge, working directly with faculty in need. She puts her knack for technical problem-solving and debugging to work for the Center for Support of Instruction (CSI) as a Senior Instructional Support Specialist. She has proudly participated in a wide variety of projects from creating custom web pages and tutorials to Commencement FAQ booklets and retreat organization.
