Welcome to Classroom Commentary, a video series of case studies on faculty-student interaction. Research shows that quality classroom interaction and feedback is as vital as quality curriculum when it comes to student academic success. Through these video vignettes we hope to open a window to some of the unexpected interaction challenges faced by faculty in both the online and face-to-face learning environment. The cases are based on real-life experiences, and were designed specifically to help faculty prevent these types of issues from arising in their classes, and to handle them fairly and equitably in the event that they do occur. Each case presents you, the case analyst, with multiple viewpoints on a classroom situation: faculty, student, administration, and policy.
